Job Description

Position Overview
The Service Captain oversees the dining floor to ensure smooth, efficient, and high‑quality service. This role acts as a bridge between guests, waitstaff, and the kitchen, ensuring that service standards are consistently met and guest satisfaction remains exceptional.

✅ Key Responsibilities
Guest Service & Experience
Greet guests, check on tables, and ensure a seamless dining experience.

Handle guest concerns or complaints promptly and professionally.

Assist in menu explanation, upselling, and special recommendations.

Team Leadership
Supervise and guide waiters, runners, and support staff during service.

Allocate tables and assign duties to team members.

Conduct pre‑service briefings to communicate menu changes, specials, and service standards.

Train new staff on service procedures, etiquette, and operational guidelines.

Operational Responsibilities
Ensure tables are properly set, clean, and ready before service.

Coordinate with the kitchen and bar to ensure timely order delivery.

Monitor order accuracy and presentation before serving.

Oversee billing, payment handling, and table turnover efficiency.

Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and safety standards across the dining area.

Administrative Duties
Assist in inventory checks for service equipment (cutlery, glassware, linen).

Report shortages, breakages, or maintenance issues.

Support management in planning events, banquets, or special service setups.

🎯 Skills & Qualifications
2–4 years of experience in food & beverage service, preferably in a supervisory role.

Strong leadership and communication skills.

Excellent customer service and problem‑solving abilities.

Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure.

Knowledge of POS systems and basic billing procedures.

Professional grooming and a guest‑first attitude.
